Apprenticeships

Our expertise ranges from the management of large time sensitive warehouses to direct production line feed and sub assembly, operating with discretion and integrity, whilst enabling other UK manufacturers in the automotive sector to benefit from our ‘on site’ logistics solutions.

Having grown from strength to strength, we currently employ circa 1100 people from diverse backgrounds and skills sets across our respective Client sites and Central Service function. One of our largest Clients is the BMW Mini Plant based in Cowley Oxford. This site alone, offers a plethora of training, development and employment opportunities commencing with our Apprenticeship schemes with the potential to proceed to permanent employment and promotion. We therefore remain focused on developing a successful partnership and providing the required approach to enable RHA and all of its Clients serviced to succeed in the future.

Offering above the minimum national minimum Apprenticeship wage, we offer an commencement hourly rate of £7.50. Our working hours are 37.5 hours per week with a variety of shift patterns to explore.

Housekeeper

We are welcoming applications from candidates who have house keeping experience within a large fast paced warehouse and office environment.

Having excellent attention to detail, good time management skills and the ability to prioritse your own workload with minimal supervision, you would be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of cleaning acitivities across all buildings
  • Managing and completing daily tasks as and when the arise
  • Assisting with stationery and uniform deliveries
  • Dealing with issues that arise effectively and promptly
  • Checking stock levels of all consumable and purchasing/replacing when required

Quality Manager

DO YOU HAVE LEAN MANAGEMENT / SIX SIGMA EXPERIENCE WITHIN A FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT?

ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT QUALITY?

We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Quality Manager who has Lean Management / Six Sigma experience to join our Quality team at our Cowley, Oxford Site, with travel to other RHA sites.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute all quality control audits.
  • Provide non-conforming evaluation and provide corrective action.
  • Ensure in house systems are updated with audit trail.
  • Identify potential CIP projects under the remit of Quality.
  • Manage and support all operational change programs.
  • Provide details of findings to relevant parties in order to secure approval of implementation.
  • Carry out daily 5 Comms to team, updating on Company performance through agreed KPI.
  • Ensure all KPI’s are reported on time and kept within a green status.
  • Prepare Shop Floor Management board for the area and present on an ad hoc basis.
  • Conduct regular reviews with direct reports including one2ones, appraisals, T & A.
  • Provide training to team in order to ensure process adherence throughout.
  • Set daily weekly targets and review plan v actual.
  • Involved in continuous improvement and eliminating process waste using the Lean Management/Six Sigma tools
  • To positively support and initiate change to achieve the business needs.
  • Assist Senior Operation Manager’s with FMEA and CAPA to ensure continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A recognised Quality Lead Auditor qualification and experience of audits
  • A recognised Quality qualification (i.e. Quality Certificate or a Quality Diploma
  • Good understanding of lean processing/ Six Sigma
  • Basic understanding of MS Outlook, MS Excel & MS Word; as well as Warehouse Management Systems
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Must possess logical reasoning.
  • Broad operations skills gained in a warehouse/distribution environment within the automotive industry.                                                

Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

  • Visio programming
  • People management experience with the ability to coach, mentor and promote your team
  • Possess the ability to develop, lead and motivate a team behind a single common agenda
  • Highly energetic with the ability to work under pressure

IT & Support Developer

Do you have programming and developing experience?

Are you confident with statistical data?

We are welcoming applications from candidates who have experience within an IT support function.  Being a self-motivated team player you will be able to work independently, be proactive and persisitent.

Supporting both the Business and the IT & Systems Manager with all IT & System Business requirement.  Assisting Senior Management with analytical work and presenting this is an accurate and timely manner.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing operations systems to ensure effective day to day running and measurement of key operations data
  • Ensuring existing business operational systems are effective and managed to the relevant Quality standard
  • Evaluating IT operational systems development and/or improvement proposals
  • Planning for implementation of any improvement and/or development of operational requirements
  • Ensuring operational measurements are available to demonstrate effective shift/operational management
  • Assisting with project related activities including updating logistics project plans and risk logs
  • Co-ordinate and execute project deliverables in line with the project plan
  • Assist with the review of relevant records and data capture within the department

Skills and Qualifications - Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially excel, PowerPoint
  • Programming: .NET, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, Classic ASP, T-SQL
  • Development Tools: Visual Studio 2010/2013, Visual Web Developer
  • Databases: MS-SQL Server 2008 and above, Database & architecture design
  • Reporting:  SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Crystal Reports, Data Reports
  • Operating  System: Windows XP, 7, 10

Reporting directly to the Group Leader, within the operational area, you would have responsibility for leading, motivating and ensuring a team of Warehouse Operatives and MHE Drivers provide the highest standards satisfying all key stakeholder requirements.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing activities to ensure focus remains on timed deliveries
  • Manpower planning
  • Assigning tasks to the team
  • Carrying out daily briefs
  • Providing business information to key stakeholders
  • Setting Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Maintaining updated KPI records for analysis
  • Liaising with internal and external customers
  • Mentoring, coaching and developing team members, ensuring relevant training is provided
  • Assist with developing processes, techniques and tools
  • Shop Floor Management presentation
  • Dealing with any shop floor issues as and when required
  • Strive for team consensus
  • Serve as a focal point of communication
  • Resolving interface and integration issues with other team
  • Promoting Lean Management

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and strong written communication skills.
  • Good computer knowledge, including Warehouse Management systems.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership and motivation skills.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Broad operations knowledge gained in a warehouse / distribution environment.
  • Proven leadership experience

This position may require you to work over all three shifts.
