South Carolina visit to Rudolph Logistics North America

Rudolph Logistics North America is a specialist for logistics services for a wide range of industries with a special emphasis on the automotive sector. It provides comprehensive logistics services such as sequencing, line feeding, or warehousing from its logistics centre in Greer, South Carolina, for manufacturing sector clients. The CEO of Rudolph Logistics North America is Mick Cook, a name you may recognise as he was a former Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive General Manager. Two of our senior management team were given the opportunity to go over to the States for a couple of weeks to support and share ideas, plus learn from our Rudolph Logistics colleagues.

Understanding cultural influences and differing business needs

Our US hosts and colleagues were in the process of on-boarding 4 new customers that had been secured. The R&HA team, made up of Karolina Skaskiewicz (Executive Assistant CEO) Denzil Allen (Head of Quality), were there to both observe and advise. This meant both organisations could learn and benefit from the collaborative experience, which included the writing of process documentation and work instructions, along with documentation updates for some of their existing clients. The collaboration also included the review and updating of Shop Floor Management Board information, such as KPIs & skills matrices. All of this was to ensure ongoing compliance to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.

"Our US colleagues made us feel very welcome the moment we arrived at the facility in Greer, South Carolina and throughout our stay. This included our downtime, where we experienced some 'Good Ol' Southern Hospitality' - and of course their great food and ample portion sizes!! Downtown Greenville was a big hit with its bustling, tree-lined Main Street which was all lit up at night. There were bands playing on the sidewalks along with numerous bars and restaurants with seating outside to make the most of the warm weather.  It was certainly a great place to visit.

"We had a fantastic time in South Carolina and achieved what we wanted to achieve. We are now looking forward to returning to the US to support our Rudolph Logistics colleagues with the ‘Go Live’ of the 4 new customers along with the error proofing of the process documents and work instructions against the live tasks."
