Transport Supervisor
When did you start working for with Rudolph and Hellmann Automotive? What site are you based at?

I started with R&HA in October 2011 at the Darlaston Operation. I was initially given the task of managing all R&HA managed supplier collections on behalf of our automotive manufacturing customer based at the site.

Briefly describe your role within Rudolph and Hellmann Automotive? How do you contribute to giving our customers a world-class service?

My role within R&HA consists of working close with our 1st Tier Automotive customer in arranging and managing the collections of raw material into their world-class manufacturing plant and also booking special deliveries for finished goods, into various automotive OEM factories across the UK.

My daily target is to ensure that we always provide a flexible, quality driven best-in class transport solution to our customers ever changing requirements. I regularly communicate with all our approved transport suppliers, and even review new suppliers, to ensure we achieve this every day.

I organise all types of transport including National, European, sea-freight, air freight, full loads and groupage. No collection to big or small!!!

What you enjoy most about your role with R&HA?

No two days are ever the same at Darlaston. As we provide our customer such a wide range of services on this site, I regularly act outside of the boundaries of Transport Supervisor and assist with a number of activities within the on-plant logistics service, stock & inventory and other value-add services. I have actually worked at this site for nearly 10 years now so I have a lot of product knowledge that is relevant and beneficial. I enjoy a challenge and the fact that my management team always encourage me to develop new skills and take on additional responsibilities.

Hobbies & Pastimes?

My main pastime outside of work is attending my local Church where I hold a position of Church Deacon. This role involves contributing to the running and management of the Church and it’s activities – along with 5 other Deacon’s. I’m also a keen walker and love visiting the Lake District with my wife.

Favourite Food/Restaurants?

My favourite food in Chinese (both takeaway and restaurant!!) but a close second is homemade Caribbean!

Anything unusual or interesting you want to divulge about yourself (Charity Work, unique facts, met any celebrities? Swam the Channel? etc)

I do charity fund raising for a school in Zambia and have spent 2 weeks this year working on the school (see article ‘Project Zambia’).
