Spotlight On...

Matt Simister

I started at R&HA in January 2014 at the Winsford operation, managing the stock movements between our customers in the USA and the UK and ensuring special orders to India and Germany ran smoothly, with all targets met.

My role as Shift Controller at Winsford is never dull; it is varied and interesting from day to day. My role includes organising our small team on daily inbound / outbound deliveries, all aspects of on-plant logistics and liaising with customers and quality teams to ensure all product and orders are correct.

Precision, flexibility and attention to detail are key attributes in this role and my many years in quality control management have stood me in good stead to take this forward.

My hobbies include anything to do with new technologies and computers. I like gardening and love to spend time in my garden, but unfortunately my 50kg Siberian husky does too, much to the amusement of my daughters. They are 6 and 8 and also keep me on my toes.

My main hobby is running and I have ran over 30 marathons and 100+ half marathons and 10k races. One of my proudest achievements was running the length of Hadrian’s Wall from Carlisle to Newcastle in less than 16 hours. These days I am not as competitive and I just run for fun.
