Operations Manager

I started working for Rudolph and Hellman Automotive in 2014 as Operations Manager at the ZF contract in Darlaston, reporting into Mick Cook the Contract manager.

My key roles were to support the Contract Manager operationally and start to plan for all the changes that were planned for 2014/15. I currently manage the ZF operation in Darlaston which is an operation that provides OE parts to the Automotive Sector.

Key objectives were to close the old factory 3 building so that it could be knocked down, to allow for the new building to be constructed, which is currently underway now. Our main objective was to do all of this without impacting on ZF production – which was successfully achieved.

This was no mean feat that we achieved all of this with no loss of production, circa 2500 pallets were moved from one building to another, several times we moved pallets from a to b to c and back again due to space constraints and best working practice. Staff had to be trained on new equipment and processes, and new areas, all of this done seamlessly, the staff performed exceptionally well in very difficult circumstances.

What are my hobbies?

My main hobbies were football, squash, badminton, running, but since I had a problem with my knee I have had to retire, I do like to read and will spend lots of time in book shops if I am allowed to, but most of my spare time is spent with my family.

I have a wonderful wife who I have been married to for 19 years, who has decided in the last few years that she now wanted a career after bringing up our children, she is now a school teacher, as you can imagine our weeks are very busy so the weekends are special to us. We have 3 wonderful children. 2 boys and a girl, who is our youngest and the apple of her daddy’s eyes.
