Spotlight On...
Karen Fisher
Group HR Manager
I joined Rudolph and Hellmann Automotive on the 2nd February 2015. The challenge of developing the HR strategy for this exciting phase in the businesses growth is what attracted me to the role.
With rapidly increasing employee numbers, the commitment to training and continued personal development, my role is focused on developing a workable and robust HR Strategy. I have a lot of experience to draw upon, plus I started out in logistics before moving into HR as a career. One of my first roles was as a graduate management trainee for Ryder PLC, I moved from that into a Regional Manager role.
I bring 12 years HR experience with me, having worked as Director of HR for Fresenius Medical Care. However for the last two years, having had a baby daughter Amelie Mae, I’ve been working as an independent HR Consultant. This enabled me to work more flexibly and I was able to enjoy a variety of projects working with businesses of all sizes. Having been approached about the R&HA role, it seemed too good an opportunity to miss. I could once again focus all my attention on a long term strategy for an exciting and dynamic organisation.
15 minutes of fame
I have renovated a number of houses and even appeared on an episode of “Homes Under The Hammer” with Martin Roberts and Lucy Alexander. (Series 15, Episode 27 if you want to Google it!).
What are my hobbies?
Having a two year old takes up most of my time outside work as she’s growing up so fast. I try and plan activities which are fun and educational, so life is pretty full on! I love cooking and interior design projects – so when I do get a little free time, this is how I relax.
