Hungary for more business and sharing best practice

The aim of the meeting was to bring the business development teams together from across Europe to establish a key understanding of each business unit and exchange intelligence and information regarding the automotive sector.

The session began with each of the key business development representatives giving presentations on key current projects and key automotive logistics opportunities within their own countries business units. Following on from this session, the group took tours of some of the key logistics operations which the Hungarian business units operate on behalf of its current customer base.

The first site visit was made to the ‘Modulcenter’ in Gyor managed by the Rudolph Gruppe. The facility is strategically positioned less than 0.5 miles from a major manufacturing plant owned by a well-known German Automotive company.

The Rudolph group carries out a number of storage, kitting and sub-assembly activities on behalf of a number of key customers, from the facility.

The next facility tour was hosted at the Rudolph Group’s operated warehouse at Tatabanya where the operational team carries out a range of logistics services to support the major automotive manufacturing company in the area. The 5,000 sqm facility hosts a number of activities including Empties handling, repackaging, storage, and forwarding.

The final site visit for the delegates was hosted at the Oroszanly site where the Rudolph Group operates an on-site logistics operation supporting production of engine components for a second tier automotive manufacturer. The operation is based in circa 1,500 sqm of warehousing space where a number of logistics services including goods receipt, linefeed, goods despatch and stock control are provided.

The Rudolph Group now plans to host the sales team meetings every quarter at different locations throughout its European business units. It is anticipated that the meetings will assist the European Business Development teams within the Rudolph Group to collaborate and work closer with each other and with its current and potential customers.
