Good News for the UK Automotive Sector
New UK car sales in September at highest level in five years - 12.1% increase on 2012
When most major markets faced a downturn ranging from -3.6% in Spain to -6.6% in Germany, -9.0% in Italy and -9.8% in France. The UK was the only one to perform better than in the first eight months of 2012 (+10.44%), according to the industry trade body, Brussels-based ACEA. The September 2013 registrations year on year increase shows the growth in the UK automotive sector is strong and sustained.
As the economy returns to growth it look as through British Manufacturing has turned a vital corner. Figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) say production output rose 0.6 per cent between the first and second quarter this year, the largest contributor being manufacturing, up 0.7 per cent over the same period.
