Rudolph and Hellmann Automotive has always invested significantly regarding Quality, Training and Development. As the company has recently experienced an extensive growth period, the Directorship sees it as one of the most important fundamental areas to ensure that the company delivers a quality driven service to it’s world-class automotive based customers. The key is to ensure that all of the employees, in whatever area of the business that they operate in, are provided the skills and training to achieve their maximum potential.

Lead by Nigel Walker as the dedicated General Manager for Group Quality, Training and Development, this year R&HA has invested to plan and deliver a focused, relevant training schedule to include 12 packages all are to be delivered within relevant areas of the business using in-house training, by both internal trainers and relevant management support.

‘Train the Trainer’ relevant to current in-house operational trainers – across all operational sites, including Darlaston, Winsford, Oxford, Wellesbourne & Gaydon. Courses focus on Line Management Development & Competency, in addition in-house operational trainers will give maximum support to Operations Management and their employee structures.

‘MHE Instructor Training’ – Transition from In-house Certificated Instructors to, Identification and Training for a selection of employees to become fully accredited certificated MHE Instructors, across all sites – enhancing the ability to assess and train candidates internally to the highest possible standard, ensuring the training of safe conduct in operating a number of MHE types utilised across the business.
‘Driving Assessor & Defensive Driver Training’ – Identification and training of current Transport Department employees with identified skills to become approved driving assessors in support mandatory company vehicle driving assessments. This promotes our desire to train drivers in best practice for road safety awareness.

‘Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents’ – CPC Operator Road Haulage Operator Certificate Providing current and future Transport employees with the regulatory certification to support all R&HA national distribution requirements at the Wellesbourne location.

‘NVQ/Diploma’ Training – Level 2 Team Leader, 12 – 18 month Apprenticeship over the next 3-5 years, for all applicable operational personnel across the business. Planning to extend to managerial level within the business.

LRQA internal auditor training to support both ISO 9001 (Quality) and 18001 (Health and Safety) accreditations – Key employees trained to audit both accreditations requirements internally to ensure each is retained.

R&HA have been working to ascertain compliance to the EU Legislation relating to ESOS (Energy Saving Opportunity Scheme). Audits utilising an external partner has demonstrated full compliance.

The schedule is planned to deliver all of R&HA’s current training needs with projection of further planned training over the next 2 years.
