5000 additional units to China for a client in the USA
The introduction of shipments to China created its own challenges around the management of stock - but when the client's based in the USA, the 6 hour time difference makes the 14 days – the time given to turn the project around - even more testing!
5000 units, 14 days and a bonded warehouse
When one of our clients set us the task of processing 5000 additional units for China through their warehouse and out to their spares department all within a 14 day turnaround; it felt a big enough challenge.
Six hour time difference made for complex communications
Increased volumes inbound and outbound could not impact upon the management of the spares activity. Through meticulous planning of the warehouse layout and delivery/collection timeslot management - the customer requirements could be met. But it would require clear communication and with a major part of our customer’s business based in North America (with a 6 hour time difference to the UK), liaison between our site and the customer would be complex.
40% increases in output
"This is an ongoing project but I'm delighted that up to now we have seen significant 40% increases in output. Well done to everyone! Once again when we were called upon by our customer to deliver change to meet increased work load to support their business, we achieved it. With good planning, a high level of communication between USA / UK and designated carriers, each milestone was reached and the execution precise and on time.
Special Thanks to Steve Layton at our Winsford site who put himself out beyond the normal requirements to make sure we achieved all that was asked.”
